Okay, I'm exhausted and stretched to the limit scheduling-wise, but it was still an amazing week. There was positive news for my father, who'd been facing some scary health issues. Things aren't as dire as feared, thank goodness. My daughter's essay won first place in her middle school. (So proud!) My kitty's off his anxiety meds, and I've managed to lose 6 lbs despite the arrival of this year's Girl Scout cookies. My treadmill is my best friend.

On the writing front, I received an offer from Carina Press this week to purchase Paradox Lost. Woot! Now I just have to finish writing it. Eek! Scary deadline is scary. But the edits have been completed for Bending the Iron, due to be released in August, so I'll be able to throw all my energy into this new project.

Crazy busy, yes. But so far, 2013 is shaping up nicely.

Thanks! We were really worried about my dad. Anything affecting the brain is so dangerous.

I just recite my mantra every morning. "You'll feel better if you do this." I bite the bullet and walk a few miles, and voila! I feel physically awesome. Which is why I don't understand why I have such a hard time keeping it up. *shrug*

Not much has happened yet. I've been working on some rewrites in between schoolwork, which I'm going to try and finish over the summer. I really want to carry on with TRER because I've had some great ideas I want to try out. I also sent claire what I have of the sequel and she really liked it, which was a relief. The main character is gay and I wasn't sure of how interested she'd be in representing that, but she seems really enthusiastic!

It's encouraging to see more mainstream publishers willing to take on a gay protag. I can't wait for the day when nobody even blinks an eye at it. Best of luck! I think you're going to be a great success. I loved your book. :)

Yeah, that's kind of why I really want to write. There needs to be more lesbian role models for teenagers in my opinion. :/

That is good news about your father; it's a scary thing when we have to begin worrying about our parents as they once worried about us.

Yay for your daughter winning first place; that is awesome!

And triple yay about your writing! I hope the rest of 2013 is as good to you as the first almost two months have been.

That's just a random LOL cat, but appropriate for my feelings. :)

Bending the Iron is a 40k contemporary romance. And Paradox Lost is a sort of a time travel, adventure, romance...thing. ;)
